Marquez Valdes-Scantling Likely Too Expensive For Packers
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers impending free-agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is expected to command a deal around three years and $24 million in free agency, according to Spotrac, and that's probably too expensive for the Packers. They could make up for losing MVS by drafting a receiver early to join Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. The Athletic's Matt Schneidman also expects Equanimeous St. Brown to land elsewhere as a free agent after catching just one touchdown and averaging one catch per game in 37 career games in Green Bay. Valdes-Scantling has the potential to be a dangerous deep threat, but his production was too sporadic for a cap-strapped team to invest in.
