Martin Jones Will Be Leaving San Jose After Six Seasons
3 years agoSan Jose Sharks decided to part ways with goaltender Martin Jones on Tuesday. The Sharks bought out the remaining three years of his contract that otherwise would have been a cap hit of $5.75 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent come Wednesday. Jones appeared in 34 games sporting a 15-13-4 record with a .896 save percentage and a 3.28 goals-against-average in 2021. If a team is desperate for a goalie, the 31-year-old could fight a starting role on some teams in the league. However, he will most likely settle in as a backup somewhere, making him not a hot commodity for fantasy managers to draft for the upcoming year.
