6 years agoHouston Astros catcher Martin Maldonado is hitting .241 in the month of September heading into Friday night's action. Maldonado is slugging .443 in 35 games since being acquired from the Angels via trade but has only one extra-base hit over his last 48 at-bats. The Astros now have Brian McCann back in the fold but the power appears to be sapped from the veteran's bat following knee surgery. Maldonado should continue to see the majority share of playing time behind the plate for the rest of the season but will not be fantasy viable.--Joey C - RotoBaller
