Martin Maldonado Homers In Victory
4 years agoHouston Astros catcher Martin Maldonado went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Astros 8-4 win over the A's on Thursday. Maldonado crushed a ball to deep center in the cavernous RingCentral Coliseum in the fourth inning for his third home run of the season. That is not an easy task and the veteran backstop now has two home runs over his last six starts. Maldonado is hitting an anemic .157/.229/.287 for the season but is slugging .449 in the month of May. Maldonado is known to occasionally flash power but lacks long-term consistency to truly be considered a player that can help fantasy rosters.
