Martin Perez Allows Just One Run In Win
6 years agoMinnesota Twins left-hander Martin Perez was excellent in a 7-1 win over the Seattle Mariners on Friday. Perez showed no ill effects of the foot contusion that cut his last start short, throwing 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball. The veteran southpaw struck out seven and walked four to improve his record to 6-1 with a 2.89 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 53 innings of work. Perez's success continues to be met with some skepticism across fantasy leagues as he's owned in just 58% of Yahoo leagues. He is a solid waiver add in all formats going forward. Perez will face the Los Angeles Angels in his next start, which will be on Wednesday.
