Martin Perez Allows One Earned Run Monday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Martin Perez put together a solid outing Monday, lasting 5 1/3 innings and only allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk. He struck out three batters. Perez improved his record on the year to 7-4. This is his second consecutive strong outing, though fantasy managers are surely looking for more length from Perez, who has only completed six innings twice this season. He also has quite a high 1.44 WHIP relative to his 3.89 ERA, so some regression in the runs department may be coming. Fantasy managers can consider Perez on a matchups basis, but should stay wary.
