4 years agoStarting pitcher Martin Perez gave the Boston Red Sox another competitive outing, allowing just two runs over five innings in the Red Sox's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. This came on the heels of his five-inning, three-run performance in a win against the Rays last Tuesday. The underlying statistics, however, tell a different story. His strikeout-to-walk ratio is only 8:6, suggesting that's he surviving on his fair share of luck. He's had two solid starts so far, but it seems like only a matter of time before his underlying numbers catch up to him.--Daniel Fox
