6 years agoMinnesota Twins left-hander Martin Perez allowed three runs in five innings of work in a 5-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. Perez struck out seven and walked two in the outing. Perez would have certainly worked deeper into the game but he left early with a left foot bruise after being struck by a line drive. The start is another in a string of productive outings for Perez, who reinvented himself over the offseason by adding a cutter to his arsenal. Overall, the veteran lefty has a 5-1 record, 3.11 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts in 46 1/3 innings of work. Stay tuned to see whether the foot bruise prevents him from making his next start.--Matt T - RotoBaller
