Martin Truex Jr. a Bit of a Question Mark at Indianapolis
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. does not like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "This is my least favorite track". It is a quote seen numerous times. Making it into a road course is not quite as enticing as it sounds. Look at the race last week at Watkins Glen. What happened? Truex Jr. faded badly at the tail end of the long run. In those last 10-15 laps, Truex Jr. lost at least four seconds on Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson. The Joe Gibbs Racing car and driver have to find that speed or hope for more cautions. That is just to have a chance this week. There may even be better options from Truex Jr.'s own team. The No. 19 can maintain track position perhaps but expecting him to get past the two Hendricks is a tall order.
