Martin Truex Jr. Could Be Strong At Michigan
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. comes into Michigan after watching his car get beat up at Indianapolis en route to a 15th place result. The No. 19 has an average finish of 7.5 and four top-ten results in his last half-dozen Michigan races. For the Joe Gibbs Racing driver, the expectation is that the speed and downforce later in longer runs may again be a problem. Tire wear is less of an issue on the Michigan track. He can likely finish in the top ten but the chances Truex Jr. wins are very small at best. There are likely higher recommended options on his own team this Sunday.
