Martin Truex Jr. May Not Be A Factor At Daytona
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. had a nice result in Duel 2 on Thursday. That sixth-place result leads to him starting 14th on Sunday. Truex Jr. had his close run to Daytona 500 glory in 2016 when he narrowly missed out on a win finishing in second. In his three appearances with Joe Gibbs Racing, Truex Jr. has finished no better than 25th. That includes getting caught up in two wrecks as well. The No. 19 car has not started better than tenth in a long while either. While that is not a bad thing, Truex Jr. and the Next-Gen car have not meshed quite so good so far. Sunday may feature Truex Jr. in an uphill battle too tough to climb.
