Martin Truex Jr. Starts Outside Top 20 At Atlanta
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. is in a rare position on Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He begins down at 26th but had the ninth fastest lap in practice on Saturday. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is deceptive on this type of track. This lower HP next-gen configuration was good for awhile for Truex Jr. He had the second most points with his two stage wins at Daytona. Finishing may be a bit of a question mark but if the No. 19 car can stay out of trouble, he could surprise. Shorter runs late may benefit Truex Jr as his Toyota did slow after 20 laps.
