Masahiro Tanaka and Didi Gregorius Lead Yankees to Game Two Victory
5 years agoThe Yankees downed the Twins 8-2 on the backs of Masahiro Tanaka and Didi Gregorius. Tanaka pitched five relatively clean innings before handing the ball over to the dominant Yankees bullpen. Tommy Kahnle, Adam Ottavino, Tyler Lyons, and Jonathan Loaisiga, in that order, took an inning each and held the Twins to just two runs on the night. On the offensive side, it was the definition of a group effort. Didi Gregorius led the charge with a third-inning grand slam, but Judge, Urshela, and LeMahieu all reached base three or four times and played big parts in the scoring innings. The Yankees will head to Minnesota in hopes to sweep the Twins in three games on Monday night.
