Mason Rudolph Shaky In Preseason Start Thursday
6 years agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph struggled in his preseason start against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday. Playing all of the first half, Rudolph completed just 5-of-12 passes for 47 yards. He did throw a four-yard touchdown to Juju Smith-Schuster but he also threw a pick-six on his very first pass attempt of the game. Rudolph looked very much like a rookie in the outing, holding onto the ball too long and taking three sacks as a result. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, Rudolph and the entire offense played too tentatively in the contest. Rudolph is fighting to be the team's backup quarterback behind Ben Roethlisberger this season.
