6 years agoNew York Islanders center Mathew Barzal led the team to victory on Friday against New Jersey, scoring the decisive goal in a 4-3 win. He netted his third one of the season with 3:40 played in overtime. Brock Nelson provided the lone assist. Barzal's goals have been rare this season, but he's been picking up plenty of assists. Wednesday's 5-0 loss to the Rangers is Barzal's only pointless effort in his last seven outings. He has 28 shots this month compared to only 12 registered in October, so he's tried to be more productive in front of goal and his efforts were rewarded on Friday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
