Matt Albers Locks Down First Save Of 2018
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Matt Albers went two-thirds of an inning, giving up two hits and striking out one to secure the 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Albers took over after Josh Hader gave up a leadoff home run to Tommy Pham and despite giving up two hits, the moment Albers came out of the bullpen, he managed to get the next two outs without an earned run coming in. Albers is now at a 1.17 ERA with six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings pitched and looks to be the most promising candidate for saves until Corey Knebel comes back, especially after the three blown saves by the Brewers on Tuesday. The job looks pretty secure in Albers' favor now, so add him if you can if he remains available in your league.
