Matt Barnes Blows His First Save
3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes blew his first save of the year Sunday afternoon against the Angels. Barnes entered with two outs in the eighth inning to protect a one-run lead, and allowed a two-run home run to Shohei Ohtani in the top of the ninth. He also took the loss. Barnes has been outstanding all season up to this hiccup, and he now has a 2.66 ERA to go with his nine saves in 19 appearances. Barnes remains an excellent fantasy option.
