5 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes allowed two runs while only recording one out in the ninth inning to blow his sixth save of the season. Barnes now has six blown saves to only four converted saves on the season as his ERA rises to 4.19. Barnes has actually shown some promise this season with 15.9 strikeouts per nine innings and an impressive 14.8 percent swinging strike rate, but he's simply been awful in recent high-leverage situations.
