Matt Barnes Left Off ALDS Roster

3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes isn't on the team's American League Division Series roster. The Red Sox announced their roster for the next round of the playoffs on Thursday, but it didn't include the veteran reliever. Barnes pitched to a 3.79 ERA and a 3.21 FIP in 54.2 innings during the regular season. He also recorded 84 strikeouts while allowing 20 walks. For as well as Barnes pitched at times this season, he also struggled down the stretch, allowing 15 hits, nine earned runs, eight walks, and a pair of home runs in his last 9.1 innings. Hansel Robles, Garrett Richards, and Garrett Whitlock are all candidates to see save opportunities against the Tampa Bay Rays.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
