Matt Barnes Records Second Save
4 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Barnes recorded his second save of the season in Tuesday's 9-7 victory against the Blue Jays. Barnes surrendered a solo home run to Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez in the ninth inning, but the veteran recorded two strikeouts to limit the damage. The 30-year-old has shifted into the late-inning/closer role after relief pitcher Brandon Workman was recently traded to the Phillies, but with the Red Sox poor first half of the shortened 2020 season, Barnes is a very likely trade candidate himself for Monday's trade deadline. Barnes carries fantasy value in deeper formats, but a trade could potentially impact his value for the remainder of the season depending on the new destination.
