Matt Belisle, Twins Interested In Reunion
7 years agoThe Minnesota Twins and free-agent relief pitcher Matt Belisle are interested in a reunion in 2018, but no deal is close, according to sources. Belisle was a nice surprise for the Twinkies in 2017, going 9-for-11 in save chances, although he did sport a 4.03 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings. Belisle worked in the ninth inning in the second half after the Twins traded away Brandon Kintzler at the deadline, and it's unlikely that Belisle would begin the 2018 season as the closer after the team signed reliever Fernando Rodney this winter. Belisle's fantasy value is on the decline, and he wasn't all that attractive of a fantasy fireman last year, either, given his lack of strikeouts.
