7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter was dropped down to the seventh spot in the batting order for Wednesday's game. Carpenter was given the entire weekend off to work on his swing and responded by going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Tuesday. He'll enter Wednesday's game hitting .140/.286/.272. The Cardinals have a fairly deep infield, so Carpenter is in legitimate danger of losing his starting job.
