Matt Carpenter Goes Hitless In First Rehab Game
5 years agoCardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter went hitless for the Memphis Redbirds tonight, in the first of what's expected to be a three-game rehab assignment. Carpenter walked, struck out, and grounded out before being pinch-hit for in the seventh inning. The St. Louis third baseman is on track to return to the big club in time for the Cardinals weekend set at home against the Astros. Before going down with the foot injury, Carpenter was slashing just .215/.321/.372 with 10 HR and 29 RBI.
