6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter (leg) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs. Carpenter was pulled in the eighth inning of Thursday's game against the Reds after fouling a ball off his shin. The 33-year-old is off to a slow start as he is batting just .225 to go along with nine home runs and 22 RBI. Carpenter is worth holding in mixed leagues as he went on a tear in the summer of 2018 after a slow start over the first few months. Jedd Gyorko will play third base and bat fifth against Cubs left-hander Cole Hamels.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
