Matt Carpenter Remains In Protective Boot
2 years agoNew York Yankees infielder Matt Carpenter (foot) had X-rays performed recently that showed good healing, but not enough for him to shed the protective walking boot he's been using. He's expected to have more imaging done in 10 days to two weeks, according to skipper Aaron Boone. Carpenter has been out almost a month with a broken foot, and it's unlikely that he'll be able to return to help provide any additional fantasy production in 2022. The 36-year-old veteran left-handed slugger was in the middle of resurrecting his career this year with the Yankees before he got injured. In 154 plate appearances and 47 games before his injury, he was hitting .305/.412/.727 with a 1.138 OPS, 15 home runs, 37 RBI and 28 runs scored.
