Matt Chapman Chips In Run And RBI In Win At Colorado
3 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and a run scored in a win over the Rockies on Friday. Chapman is batting just .207 this season as he's been one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy dating back to the 2020 season. He struck out 35 percent of the time last season and has a K-rate over 31 percent this season. That's a far cry from the 22-24 percent rates he put up when he was an MVP candidate in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He's still walking a lot and making good contact when he hits the ball, but Chapman needs to get the K's under control to be a contributor in fantasy. He does, however, have two more games in Coors Field this weekend making him a start-worthy option in baseball's best hitting environment.
