Matt Chapman Will Receive Second Opinion On Hip Injury

4 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman was once again absent from the club’s lineup Friday due to the hip ailment that has kept him from playing since last Sunday. While Oakland has insisted that Chapman won’t require a stint on the injured list, he will receive a second opinion on his hip. With a whopping 21 extra-base hits in 37 contests, Chapman has raised his slugging profile (.535), despite seeing his on-base percentage (.276) take a dip this year. The nature of the injury seems likely to keep him out of the equation for at least another game Saturday, with his return somewhat murky.
