Matt Gay Hits Only FG And Extra-Point Attempts Of Game
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay went 1-for-1 on field-goal attempts and 1-for-1 on extra points in the Rams 31-10 opening-game loss to the Buffalo Bills. The 28-year-old nailed a field goal from 57 yards out towards the end of the first half. He did everything that was asked of him. The Rams offense just did not move the ball much. The Bills might be the toughest defense the Rams face all season. Add to that the facts that the Rams were missing No. 3 receiver Van Jefferson (knee) and that No. 2 WR Allen Robinson II didn't appear to be in sync with quarterback Matthew Stafford in his first game as a Ram. Head coach Sean McVay hasn't quite figured out the running back situation, and it is plausible to chalk up this stinker as a Week 1 dud. The Rams kicker should get more scoring chances in next Sunday's late-afternoon game against a less-talented Falcons team.
