Matt Gay Makes Only One Field Goal In Super Bowl
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay made his lone field-goal try from 41 yards out in the 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday. He also made both of his extra-point attempts in the game, but he could have had a third -- the holder dropped the ball just as Gay was about to kick it through the uprights, resulting in no points after the Rams second touchdown of the night. The 27-year-old made his first Pro Bowl in his third NFL season and was one of the most consistent kickers from a real-life and fantasy perspective in 2021. Gay finished the regular season as the No. 3 fantasy kicker by making 32 of his 34 field-goal tries and 48 of his 49 extra points in 17 games. He should once again be a top-five fantasy kicker in 2022.
