Matt Gay - Week 1 Fantasy Outlook

2 years agoLos Angeles Rams kicker Matt Gay opens his 2022 season with a tough fantasy matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that was tough to score on last season. The Bills allowed the fewest touchdowns and the eighth-fewest field goals per game in 2021. Overall, opposing kickers only scored 5.6 points per game against the formidable Buffalo defense. The Bills defense looks to have improved, too, with the additions of Von Miller, DaQuan Jones and Tim Settle on the defensive line. If the Rams can't move the ball, Gay won't have many opportunities to kick field goals or score points after touchdowns. But there is upside for Gay, too, in this matchup of pass-heavy offensive juggernauts. The game could turn into a shootout, and the Rams could get stopped inside Bills territory often, leading to field-goal attempts.
