4 years agoFollowing up on an earlier report that free-agent starting pitcher Matt Harvey had reached out to the New York Mets about a potential return, it has been confirmed by Mets' beat writer Anthony DiComo that there was no truth to this rumor. New York Radio WFAN's Boomer Esiason floated this story earlier today, stating that the Mets would have entertained a Harvey return. Given Harvey's considerable struggles following his 2016 thoracic outlet syndrome injury, a spot in the Mets rotation or bullpen would have been a long shot, at best.
