4 years agoAccording to New York Radio WFAN's Boomer Esiason, free-agent starting pitcher Matt Harvey has reached out to the New York Mets about a potential return and the Mets may consider it. Harvey has been throwing regular bullpen sessions as he continues to stay in shape with the MLB season suspended. The 31-year-old hasn't been the same since dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome in 2016. Harvey struggled with the Angels last season before he was released in July. With Noah Syndergaard recovering from Tommy John surgery, an injury that will keep him out for the entire 2020 season (if a season is played) and part of the 2021 season, there is a possibility a reunion could happen. That said, given Harvey's considerable struggles following his 2016 injury, a spot in the Mets rotation or bullpen would still be a long shot at this point.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
