Matt Harvey's Line From Monday Is Deceiving
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels of Anaheim starting pitcher Matt Harvey was charged with four runs, five hits and a walk with one strikeout over 1 1/3 innings in his Cactus League spring start against the Texas Rangers. While he did uncork a wild pitch, and that's on him. The defense committed an error behind him and he was charged with one, and one of the hits allowed was a bloop single and not hard hit at all. The good news is his velocity was checked at 91-93 mph, and that's the most important start of the day. He was between 93-96 mph in the second half last season with the Cincinnati Reds, and his walk rate was fantastic. Harvey might have a tougher time in his first go-around in the American League, but he is a decent AL-only fantasy option with some deeper mixed value.
