7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and catcher Austin Barnes make great daily plays against Giants starter Derek Holland on Friday. The two are a combined 1-for-6 against Holland, but that's an extremely small sample size due to most of Holland's career being in the American League. It's their numbers against lefties this season that should warrant your attention. Kemp is lighting up lefties, going 10-for-22 so far with two walks and six strikeouts. Four of those 10 hits have gone for extra bases and Kemp remains the team's hottest hitter after Yasmani Grandal. Barnes has gone 5-for-14 against lefties with one walk and one strikeout. Two of his hits have been for extra bases. These numbers don't jump out, but they're significantly better than their numbers against right-handed pitching. Holland doesn't scare anyone and the Dodgers will be looking to save face against their division rivals after losing a series to one of the league's worst team, the Marlins.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
