6 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Rays. The moon shot was Olson's ninth of the season. The 24-year-old is hitting the ball extremely hard (52.2 percent hard-contact rate), and only J.D. Martinez is hitting the ball harder this season. Olson should see more HRs if he continues to hit the ball with such authority. He faces a favorable matchup next series against the Royals, whose pitching staff has given up the second most HRs this season.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
