4 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a walk in a win over the Rangers Tuesday. The two-hit night raises Olson's batting average to .175, but there is more to his season than the anemic batting average. Olson has 20-plus runs and RBI and now has 10 long balls. Digging deeper, we can see that Olson has been unlucky to this point as his hard-hit rate and average exit velocity are almost exactly what they were from the past two seasons when his average was near .250. Beyond that, Olson is walking at an elite rate so he's still getting on base and producing runs in a strong A's offense. Fantasy managers should continue to start Olson and hope the batting average catches up to his other numbers.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
