2 years agoNew England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick hasn't decided who will call the offensive plays this season, but it's trending in Matt Patricia's direction, according to a source. Patricia and Joe Judge are both preparing for the possibility that they'll call plays, but Patricia's workload this spring has suggested he's the early favorite for the offensive coordinator duties. With former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels gone, the Patriots aren't running a complete new offensive system, but rather simplifying their terminology. This should help some of the younger players, but a move from McDaniels to either Patricia or Judge could be a massive downgrade for second-year quarterback Mac Jones and the rest of the offense in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
