4 years agoTaking a bout at the bantamweight division, Matt Schnell (15-6) was unable to secure the decision victory on Saturday over the bigger Rogerio Bontorin, who actually missed weight at 137 pounds. Statistically, though, Schnell actually out-struck Bontorin in total strikes, landing 65 significant strikes and 113 total strikes. Schnell was unable to do much damage with his strikes, though. A return to flyweight allow for a more dominant performance from Schnell. Anytime Schnell is set for a bantamweight clash, it appears that his power and solid ground game will not carry over to the bigger fighters.--Matt Bricker - RotoBaller
