5 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker continued his hot start to his spring training on Sunday, firing four scoreless frames versus the Phillies. He allowed no hits and just one walk while striking out four in the 49-pitch effort, 30 of which were thrown for strikes. Shoemaker now has 6 2/3 scoreless innings under his belt this spring with nine punchouts and just one hit surrendered. After an abrupt end to his season last April, the veteran has picked up where he left off when he pitched to a 1.57 ERA through five starts before going down with an ACL tear. Shoemaker is looking more appealing by the day in deeper mixed-leagues and should at least be on watchlists as we get closer to Opening Day.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
