3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker notched his third victory of the season in an extra-innings win over the Cincinnati Reds. Shoemaker worked a 1-2-3 frame in the 11th inning, then got into a bit of trouble in the 12th, loading the bases before coming up with a timely strikeout to get out of the jam. The veteran hurler had allowed five runs in his first two outings out of the bullpen, so this performance marked a step in the right direction. Shoemaker is unlikely to rejoin the rotation anytime soon unless he can string together several solid performances, given the way Bailey Ober has pitched.--Tim Capurso
