6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker (forearm) will head out on a rehab assignment on Wednesday for High-A Inland Empire. Shoemaker is expected to throw between 60-70 pitches. If that goes well, he will likely be ready to return to the majors. Shoemaker has only made one start in the big leagues this season, but could give a hurting Angels rotation a nice boost for the rest of the year. However, he is not worth a look outside of very deep fantasy leagues after posting a 4.51 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP last year.--patton
