2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox reinstated left-hander Matt Strahm (wrist) from the 15-day injured list on Friday and optioned right-hander Josh Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move. Strahm missed over a month with a bruised left wrist after he was hit by a comebacker. Before his injury, the 30-year-old southpaw had a 3.58 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP and a 32:7 K:BB in 27 2/3 relief innings. Strahm also has three saves on the season, and he could be part of the team's closer-by-committee situation down the stretch along with names like Garrett Whitlock, John Schreiber and Matt Barnes.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
