7 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Matt Wieters (leg) is going to be placed on the disabled list after injuring his leg in Thursday night's contest versus the Diamondbacks. Prospect Spencer Kieboom has been called up from Triple-A Syracuse to take his spot. Kieboom had one walk in his only major league plate appearance in 2016 and will likely take a back seat to Pedro Severino, who slides into the role of primary catcher. Kieboom is not on the 40-man roster, but the Nationals have a lot of players that they can move to the 60-day DL. He sports a .670 OPS this season in Triple-A and has one home run and 10 RBI. For now, Kieboom isn't fantasy relevant, though Severino's value increases a bit. Wieters can safely be dropped from single-catcher leagues if you need the DL slot for another player.--Mario Hernandez - RotoBaller
