2 years agoSeattle Mariners pitcher Matthew Boyd (elbow) is expected to make his first rehab outing of the season with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, according to Chris McCosky of Detroit News. He has yet to pitch at any level this season due to a flexor strain in his left elbow. The 31-year-old southpaw last pitched in 2021, filling a rotation role for Detroit. He posted a 3.89 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and .255 OBA along with 7.67 K/9 and 2.63 BB/9 through 15 starts. He signed with the Giants in March but was traded to the Mariners at the deadline.
