4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd (knee) will miss his next scheduled start against Boston, but could return in time for the following start, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. Boyd exited his start on Thursday night with left knee tendinitis, but he has apparently received a good prognosis for his knee, as manager AJ Hinch said, "I'm not a doctor, but the feedback has been very positive that this is likely to make him miss a start in Boston, may or may not get all the way to that 10-day IL. But it's somewhere in that range." Through his first six starts, Boyd has gone 2-3 with a 2.27 ERA and 17.3 percent strikeout rate in 35 2/3 innings.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
