Matthew Boyd Throws Bullpen Session On Thursday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners pitcher Matthew Boyd (elbow) threw a bullpen session with the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday. The next step for the southpaw will be a rehab assignment. He has been sidelined all season as Boyd continues to work his way back from surgery on his flexor tendon last September. The 31-year-old went 3-8 with a 3.89 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 67 strikeouts, and 23 walks in 78 2/3 innings over 15 starts. Boyd will most likely be used in a multi-inning relief role once activated from the injured list and is mainly an option in deep-league formats.
