Matthew Stafford Has Ligament Tear In His Thumb
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) is in fact dealing with partial tears to ligaments in his right thumb, putting his status for Sunday's contest versus Carolina in doubt. After a recent bout with the COVID-19/reserve list that almost led to Chase Daniel making his first start of the season, the veteran backup should be uniquely prepared to step in should Stafford not progress in the right direction during practice throughout the week. The Panthers Defense is yielding the fourth-most passing yards allowed in the league, which could make Daniel a heavily-contrarian GPP candidate -- although Stafford may not retain the same appeal depending on the extent of his injury. Check back throughout the week as updates on Detroit's QB1 become available.
