Matthew Stafford - Week 1 Outlook for Fantasy Football
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford opens the season with a tough matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs last season. The Bills defense ranked first against the pass, allowing the least passing yards and fewest touchdowns, while picking off the fourth most passes per game. The offseason additions of Von Miller, DaQuan Jones and Tim Settle maintain the strength of a deep defensive line that could limit Stafford's time to throw. Still, a showdown Thursday between two offenses with Super Bowl aspirations could turn into a shootout. Vegas has the over-under at 52.5, implying about three touchdowns for the Rams. What Stafford might lack in efficiency, he could make up for in volume. One unknown is the extent of his lingering elbow injury. Head coach Sean McVay says his star QB hasn't been limited in practice and will be "ready to go." Stafford is a borderline QB1 against a strong Bills defense.
