2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried was excellent in his team's 3-1 win over the Pirates on Thursday, striking out eight batters over six innings of work for his sixth win of the year. The lefty gave up just one run on eight hits and no walks, with seven of the hits going as singles and one Jack Suwinski knock leaving the ball park for Pittsburgh's lone run of the game. Fried has now gone at least six frames in 10 consecutive starts with all but one of the contests being credited as a quality start. He'll take a 2.64 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 69/12 K/BB into his next scheduled matchup versus the Nationals.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
