2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried won the pitching duel between himself and Mets starter Jacob deGrom in a 4-3 win on Thursday night. The left-hander tossed seven innings of two-run ball, allowing four hits and no walks while striking out six in the 93-pitch performance. Both runs came off a Mark Canha two-run homer in the fifth, but it was otherwise a quiet night for the Mets bats with Fried looking like himself despite missing time with a concussion. He will take a satisfying 2.60 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next start versus the Pirates next week from Pittsburgh.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
